In our first instalment of players of the Young Guns we take a look at Giants guard Pranaya Sakya who is leading the league in total Points and free throw percentage.

DID YOU KNOW: 
Started playing basketball at the age of 12. 
First rep team was under 16s Sydney comets Div 2 as a reserve. 
Had the nunawading junior spectres competition where he got the chance to play due to 2 players not being able to attend. 
Won MVP honours in the losing grand final team out of 90 participating players. 
Under 16s div 2 champs (2006), runners up under 16s div 1 (2007), runners up under 18s div 2 (2008), champs under 18s div 1 (2009).

ACHIEVEMENTS:

- Won best defensive player for comets, most improved and most valuable.

- In 2008 selected for the NSW metro team after a 6 hour a day 2 day trial to compete in Victoria. 

- Received a scholarship to attend Connecticut. (US)

- Youth league All Star 5 award Twice playing for Glebe Magic.

- Scored 55 points in Representative game 

- Basketballer of the year, Three years in a row 

GETTING BUCKETS: 

Bankstown association averaged 35 points a game with a season high of 67 with 16 made 3's
